Biography
Who is Roman Vasilenko
Roman Viktorovich Vasilenko is a Russian entrepreneur, economist, business coach and public figure. He was born on 5 April 1969 in Leningrad into a family of career naval-aviation officers — both his father and mother served in the Navy of the USSR. His childhood and school years were spent in military garrisons, and from an early age this environment instilled in him discipline, order and the habit of working towards long-term goals.
Public and patriotic activities
Since 2013 Roman Vasilenko has annually hosted the «Officers' Ball», a cultural and patriotic event dedicated to Victory Day, with the participation of Heroes of the Soviet Union and of Russia, delegations from the Hero Cities and government representatives. The project is devoted to preserving the memory of those who defended the Motherland and to the patriotic upbringing of young people.
Charity
Since 2016 he has supported children with severe neurological conditions and funded research in paediatric neurology and psychiatry, assisting the «Doctrina» clinical centre in St. Petersburg. In the same year he began helping the Valaam Transfiguration Monastery. Since 2017 he has been a patron of the «Dobrovidenie» folk-song festival; in 2020 he took part in restoring the Obelisk of Glory in Kerch; and since 2020 he has supported the youth hockey team «Life is Good» from Ufa. He is an honorary co-chair of the international charitable foundation Mercy Corps.
Creative work and public speaking
In 2021 the «Piter» publishing house released Roman Vasilenko's book «Hunter for Success: How to Achieve Your Goal», which sets out his «12 Principles of Success»; his first book, «Dream, Goal, Success of an Entrepreneur», had appeared earlier, in 2015. He is also the author of the film «17 Secret Laws of Success» and the author of the lyrics and music of the song «Life is Good». He runs his own YouTube channel with an audience of over 800,000 subscribers (a holder of the YouTube Silver Button) and, since the mid-2010s, has performed before audiences of many thousands — from the «Rossiya» concert hall to the «Gazprom Arena».
Family
Roman Vasilenko is married and raising four children. In his interviews he invariably calls his family his main support in life and his most important achievement.

Professional activity
1990–1998: head of the financial service of military unit 22966 at the Leningrad Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet — budget planning, pay and allowances, settlements with contractors and reporting. Discharged to the reserve with the rank of Captain 3rd Rank and the right to wear the military uniform.
1998–2009: work in the civilian financial sector in positions ranging from financial consultant to director; investments, insurance and private financial planning, including experience at a Swiss consulting company.
Since 2009: founder of the International Business Academy (IBA) in St. Petersburg (a private further-education institution, state educational licence No. 1901, 2016); since 2017 a part-time lecturer, and since 2018 its general director.
Since 2014: founder and chairman of the board of the housing cooperative «Best Way» (reorganised in 2021 into the Interregional Consumer Cooperative for the Improvement of Quality of Life «Best Way»); chairman of the board until February 2021, and chairman of the council from February 2021 to February 2022.
